It's the same setup, the bars are just commonly welded now. Makes it easy to run the wires internally.

For some one who actually rides , and rides their bike hard. I think it comes down to function over form. At the end of the day though I could give two ***** what someone else thinks about my bike as long as it works for me.

And ryderbyker said it best I've never sat my *** on a comfortable race bike ever.

I think the reason that t bars have gotten higher is because frame geometry has changed. on my rigid i have 8" t bars and that put my hands right where i wanted them, and on the dyna it took 10" to get them to the same place.
