Zeke, I don't know how common it is but through my searches I couldn't find much info on it. Honestly if I had to do it again I would go with 11" progressives out back. It does look damn good though.

I went with 11" progressives just in case and they work great no problems with bottoming and still has a great stance. I weigh 175lbs which I am sure helps too and donlt ride 2 up much.

Sounds like a bad/worn out set of shocks. How many miles do they have on them? First I have heard of this issue.

Mine has done the same thing with the factory shocks and lowering blocks. Before I set the preload on the hardest setting I could, I noticed that my fender had been hitting the brake caliper, and the wiring harness underneath was about to be rubbed all the way through. I moved the wiring harness to the side, and put the shocks at the hardest setting. Still bottoms out if I hit a BIG bump, but nothing like it did. And I am 6'2" and come in around 240lbs.

I have 12'' with lower blocks and I have hit the bleeder valve on my brake as well. Put a nice little dent in the fender... I have made plans to go to a bigger rear tire to compensate for the fender gap I hate, and go back to a stock 12'' ride height.

I had this happen once, I hit a big pot hole and was damn near thrown from the bike. I was flying down the road and missed seeing the pot hole, believe you me, I look all the time now. Noticed where the bleeder valve hit when I pulled the fender to do my light mod. Haven't had any issues other than that one time.

Weird, ive hit bumps thaf have knocked me up off the seat including highway speeds and never had this issue. Guess im the lucky one- never thought id hear myself say that! Lol

i hit a nice big landmine riding 2-up with my burly's and the rear fender hit the bleeder valve just slightly. just so i dont have to worry about this in the future i'm having Alex Lerner at SL NYC cut off any potential problem area on the fender.
