Fender hits with burlys

I have the burly slammer kit installed and my fender hits both the caliper bleeder and the belt guard. I'm 225 and have it set on the third not h for pre load. I figure I'm going to have to trim the fender to clear the bleeder but will taking the belt guard off fix the other side or do I need to trim that side as well? If so how much needs to come off? 2011 street bob if it matters.

I did some trimming on mine when I had Burlys. There's really no pattern or formula to follow. I basically trimmed the fender all the way flush with the bottom of the struts on the brake side and then trimmed the belt guard side following the the stock lines but carried it up higher. Let me see if I can find some pics.

I will say this though, I really didnt need to cut as much as I did. Especially on the front side. The Burlys hardly have any travel at all. And actual travel at the swing arm pivot is probably less than .5-.75" If I had to do it again I would probably take off about half as much metal. The best thing to do is remove your shocks and then cycle the swing arm up til something hits and then decide how much you really need to remove. Its going to be less than you think.

Damn, sorry about your luck. Mine doesn't rub at all. I am 6'1" 220lbs. And the roads out here aren't exactly prestine...

That looks pretty good what kind of stop light is it? I think I'll take a little at time until I get it just right, my biggest concern is taking the belt guard of and the belt getting shredded.

Is this a common problem with the burly's?

Hmm,weird. You may have to amputate your struts.:icon_denk:
