Do the performance mods as soon as possible. Your bike will love you for it, as will your right leg. I have damn neart 20k on my 2010. Fun bike. Sooner or later you'll want cams.

Quick update...

* Still waiting for the big order I placed last Tuesday.
* Ordered some more stuff today that I'll need when I install my forward controls.
* Made up my mind about the intake, exhaust, and tuner.
* Still trying to figure out what else I want to do right now.

Gotta at least figure out what grips I want for when I install the drag bars. Trying to decide between the Standard Black Get-A-Grip Hand Grips (56100008) and the Black Nostalgic Hand Grips (56275-96B). I haven't really seen any others I like. Some of the Ness and Avons are okay, but nothing really strikes my fancy.

Take a look at PM Renthal grips (Performance Machine). Much nicer than the HD plastic crap.

Looks like you're off to a good start, congrats and have FUN!

Default $0 Vertical License Plate

First little "mod" is the $0 vertical license plate.

I can't remember where I originally saw this, and I couldn't find an existing thread, so I thought I'd post a new one. I did this same thing on my Nightster, and it may also work on the Wide Glide. I already had all the nuts, bolts, and washers, so this didn't cost me a thing.

Posted in its own thread here: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...plate-mod.html

First up is a pic of how the plate looks stock.

With the plate removed, you can see the stock carriage bolt. There's a flange nut on the back. Remove these and store for safe keeping.

The dealer used these bolts and square nuts to attach my drive out tags. I used them to reattach the plastic piece that was removed during the last step.

And here it is all done. The plate was installed using stainless steel hex bolts, washers, and nyloc nuts.

Small mod with the plate but seriously effective

Get the reflectors off the rear fender, you won't regret it!
