Wider tire or wider front wheel for Wide Glide??
#11
I bent my rim on my 2016 in 1000 miles! Bought a set of takeoffs from another 2017. I had my hub from the bent 21 re-laced on to the spare 17" rear. My only problem now is finding a front tire to fit the 4.5" rim. I'm going to have to go fenderless for now. I'm hoping for either a 150 or 160 mm. I want street tread, not sport pattern. The tread patterns I like don't offer a 17" in my width. Work in progress!

metzler, avon, and few others make monkey sized front tires or do what Multihdrdr says and reverse the tread on a rear tire.

More info...
Came across your post here and wanted to see if when you changed to the 3.5 front wheel if you had to change fender as well? Any issues with braking? I have 02 Dyna and interested in going same route.

97 WG...and changed F fender with the 3.5" front. No issues braking, but had previously changed to a 4 piston F caliper.
