I wouldnt expect any oil to make these air cooled push rod engines totally quiet, especially with cams, and performance exhaust

Main thing is there's some in there. Rocker box is an echo chamber. Noise is different with windshield versus no windshield. I've tried various oils. I have landed on amsoil and had no problems. Everyone uses either what they can afford or what they believe in.

Last few oil changes i used mobil-1 in motor and mobil-1 atf in primary and every one seems happy. Was using royal purple before that in motor and the Mobil one does seem to make valve train quieter. I always use redline shock proof in the trans i doubt that will change

I started running Lucas Motorcycle oil and I will stick with it. I have run all the big name synthetic brands and feel Lucas is the quietest. The biggest issue is finding it.

Interesting; it'd be fun to know who makes the HD oil (they private label it, just like the boat companies do their branded oils- my company is a supplier of marine engine oils)

I've been using Amsoil in everything on the bike since 500 miles.
It was clean and still is.
