Woody I went with the reduced reach. I am only 5'7". But my trouble was with my right leg, it is 1" shorter than the left due to a crash back in the 70's. I don't know how tall you are but If you are taller than me I would atleast goe with the standard forwards. Just my 2 cents.
Being as I'm new and there are more options than I understand what do you guys recommend for forward controls. Turning my leg out to change gears is hurting my hip with the stock controls.
I had the same problem when i had mids...i also had highway pegs but this disnot solve anything as i still had to shift and i drive alot in the city...i eventually started shifting with my heel until i smartened up and bought some forward controls....no more hip issue...best mod i did until i swapped the forwards for footboards...love the look and many different foot postions....if i could do it again i would have went right for the fld footboard kit btw im 5'10
I worries that the floor boards wouldn't look as good, that's what I really want. And I can't seem to actually understand what floor boards are needed for my bike that still give me a stretch.
Riding comfort first, look details second. Doesn't matter if some of the details look amazing if you aren't comfortable on your ride. My opinion. Once you find the right combo of seat, bars and foot controls, you will notice that you like the the looks you selected no matter what.
I love the forwards and the La pera villian seat together. I feel in more control of my ride.
Have had my new Low Rider for 24 hours now. Time to start the mods. I knew going into it that I would never make it with the mid controls. Does anyone know if the FLD Floorboard Kit will fit on my bike?
