Where does this part go?!

Did my handle bar swap today on my '14 street bob, this piece of plastic popped out when we removed the throttle cables but don't know where it goes... Anyone know what this piece is and we're it goes?

It goes inside your throttle handlebar assembly, sits on top of your throttle adjuster screw
|
Not sure but I'm planning on swapping my grips sooner than later and it would be nice to know if that falls out on my swap. Looks like it might be something that aligns (spacer or shim) to the too and bottom halves maybe?
Looks like pthauvet knows the answer. |
aw yes, that piece... i lost mine when i switched my bars a couple years ago
you know the screw under the controls? well it goes where that is on the inside, under the throttle grip - the screw pushes that piece up against the throttle to increase the friction or something. i've never felt like i'm missing out... this might help http://images.imagessite.com/OEM_IMA...D11FXDF040.gif |
Yep, that is the Amish contribution to Dyna cruise control.
The silly thumb screw throttle lock screws into that and that is what holds (and I use that term loosely) the throttle hand grip in place. "...And I was so pleased to be informed of this That I ran twenty red lights in his honor Thank you Jesus Thank you Lord..." |
Thanks for all the quick responses guys gonna take the throttle apart and put them back on, another quick question...
For those who used stock throttle cables.. How did you un-bend the angled part of the throttle cables they are a b@&tch to bend! |

Using it as a cruise control, even lightly locked, is a very bad idea.....
