We rode in 100+ for quite a way. We did 1050 mile week before last. Went down to South Texas. HOT!! For us physically, STAY HYDRATED!!! For the bike, well, I had to go to my dealer when we got back. It was lugging, it popped like crazy on even the slightest deceleration, and had a slight power loss. Dealer said that my Stage I setup was done lean due to EPA REGS. That makes it run hot.

Solution: up the fuel/air mix ratio ($50 adjustment ) change ALL FLUIDS to Redline synthetic racing fluids ( had Harley Syn3 ). She runs cooler now and shifting is oh so sweet! Shifting got smoother and quieter. Did 120 miles yesterday and it was HOT!! No issues at all.

Stay cool. Ride safe

What plug is that? They didn't mention that. It's flippin' hot down here, so I want to do all I can to run smooth.

On the other hand the wind buffeting by sitting lower behind the windscreen is zero. Comfort for the butt is sacrificed for head comfort.
I'm living on a fixed income and need to watch the money situation and keep the wife happy. So I went with the Air Rider Solo Seat Pad 12" long x 13" wide for $89.00 bucks. Great product my butt likes it a lot.

Yes, I'm thinking about the Progressive 444-4039B 13". I was wondering how hard it was to turn the adjusting **** to make sag adjustment?

We ride all the time in hot and humid weather in Florida. Wear light colored clothing. Drink water all the time even if not thirsty. Stop every 50 miles or so and get some Air Cond. or Shade. Drink plenty of fluids. As far as the bike, don't idle the engine to long. Keep the air moving around the engine or that rear cylinder will suffer. Don't forget to drink water!

Today was about as a good a riding day as you will get. Tomorrow is suppose to be a repeat. Will be at 2300 miles by the end of tomorrow. At the rate I am going, I will need a new LR in a few years.

I have been thinking of the same thing. I spent 5 hours out on my bike today and my butt never did get sore. It must be getting tougher, when I first got the bike my butt was sore after only an hour. That is why I bought the tallboy seat. At this point I am going to leave the stock seat on as it has many benefits over the tallboy seat. It handles better with me sitting lower, my head is in a pocket of air that is as close to zero buffeting and wind possible, and it looks so much better than the tallboy. If I do get a sore butt on my next long trip I will try one of those pads. So much cheaper than forking out $500 or more for a good seat like a Corbin or a Lepera.

Oh and I broke 4,000 miles today. They are racking up faster than I expected. That will come to a grinding halt though as the forecast says rain starting tonight that is to last until the end of the week when I go back to work.
