Well that is some great news. Damn, I did not know that. Makes my job a lot easier now. Just get the right tender.

My 2014LR does not come stock with the connector. The Harley branded tender looks suspiciously like a Battery Tender Jr with a different label stuck on, it even uses the same connector. That was beside the point, the Harley branded one was only about $35 and it came with the necessary wiring. The local dealer installed the wiring for free and the connector is easy to pull out when needed just above the rear cylinder on the left side of the bike. The price was so reasonable including installation that I didn't see any reason to mess around with other brands. The wiring for the connector is tricky to install because the battery is a tight fit leaving very little room to run the wire which has a built in inline fuse. BTY, the battery terminals on the bike are metric!!!

Ok mine came with one and I assumed they all did, as the bikes on the floor had them too. Maybe it is something that this dealership does to all the bikes when they come in. Or it could be a difference between Canadian and US models, just like our cars all come stock with a block heater.

My 2014 came with the plug. The salesman said that is something they do. I assumed he meant the dealership but who knows. I was at the other local dealer just yesterday and noticed a plug hanging out of a bike on the showroom floor. I have a battery tender that must be at least ten years old and still works fine.

It looks like this, the standard HD 12 volt accessory plug hooked to the battery.

I am looking at the HD Battery Tender:

Just get the Battery Tender Jr.. It's the same 3 step charger that comes with the charging pigtail that is attached to the battery and is just under $25 from Amazon. I have used them on all my cycles.

I see something that looks like a battery tender plug on the left side of the bike that is right above the battery box.

Anyone have a picture of their plug as it appears on their bike?
