Default How much should I offer?

The salesman I have been working with at my local dealer informed me last week that the dealership is being sold to a big car dealer very soon and they are looking to move some bikes before the sale. They have a '14 LR in my favorite color (amber/black two-tone) with security and ABS. Sticker is $17,1xx with freight and their high setup fee of $500-something, and he told me they could do $15K. But I'm assuming this is not out the door, and dealer fee ($289 I think), tax, tag would have to be added. He was heading out of town for a few days, and it was on my mind, so I was thinking of offering $15K OTD (4% sales tax for vehicles in VA), then he called today.....

First off, he said that he, and most of the staff, will be gone on March 4 (the day the new owners take over), they had a meeting this morning and the sales manager basically said any offer will be considered. Should I try $14K OTD?

Is the car dealer that is getting the HD dealership going to continue the business?

$15K plus sales tax is a good deal. I would see if they would be willing to roll the $289 fee and tag into the $15K price. I would take that bike at $15K plus sales tax.

Page 87 & 88 of the Owners Manual.

Upshift
First to Second - 15mph
Second to Third - 25 mph
Third to Fourth - 35 mph
Fourth to Fifth - 45 mph
Fifth to Sixth - 55 mph

Downshift
Sixth to Fifth - 50 mph
Fifth to Fourth - 40 mph
Fourth to Third - 30mph
Third to Second - 20 mph
Second to First - 10 mph

In riding I find that the Upshift is an average for what gear I tend to be in based on sound and feel, i.e. in 5th I would be on the flat at about 50 - 55.

Agreed. You can try for it but I doubt you will get it for that price. If you do, then I think you will have gotten the best deal on a 2014-15 LR of anyone on the forum.

Is that $12,250 after you put $3k down?
