2006 Street Bob Inner Primary Bearing: All Balls Bearing Kit 25-3101
Hey everyone,
So my inner primary bearing is on its way out (at 8,200 mi) and I bought an All Balls inner primary bearing seal kit. Amazon told me it fit my 2006 Street Bob two separate times but I just received the package and it says: Inner Primary Mainshaft Bearing and Seal Kit. Big Twin Models 1989-06 (except 06 Dyna) Will this not work to change out my inner primary bearing? I'm annoyed because the part number (25-3101) on other sites says it will fit but the package is now saying it won't? I emailed All Balls but no response yet. Where have you guys bought your inner primary bearing kit or has anyone used this same kit on an 06 and did it work? Please let me know! Thanks! |

Just got an email back from All Balls actually.
The part number you need for 6 speed transmissions is 25-3103. Stupid Amazon. They sold me 25-3101 and told me it would fit. Hope this helps someone else out. Buy 25-3103 and you'll be good. |

I'm so confused though. All Balls is telling me 25-3103 will work while Dennis Kirk and Amazon is telling me it won't. Amazon says 25-3101 will work while All Balls and Dennis Kirk are telling me it won't. I think I might just keep 25-3103 and 25-3101 on hand for when I tear down and hope one of them is right. Otherwise I guess I'll have to contact Harley. Anyone use either kit on their 06 Dyna Street Bob? |
get the baker 1 piece bearing and be done with it

Pick up Baker 189-56
You can buy it on Amazon or Ebay. Its a sealed bearing. You can cut off the race on your tranny input shaft with a dremel tool. Took me 2 minutes to cut it off. Press out the original open bearing, press in the Baker. Put your bike back together and stop worrying about your IPB for at least 40,000 miles. Probably much more. The All Balls Bearing is marginally better than the stock 06 Harley bearing and if you don't have the 2 missing alignment dowels in your tranny case and inner primary you will be doing the job again. There is about a 95% chance that you don't have these dowels or provisions to mount them in the tranny housing. |

None racheting. All spring loaded shoe. Both tensioners get great reviews. I went with the Baker bearing and the Hayden tensioner. |
