Default Front brake reservoir is leaking, has anyone done this

Front brake reservoir is leaking and ruined the cap already, i have to buy a new cap.

I was wondering if anyone has done this on here, i think it looks sweet and the stock reservoir is huge if you take time to look at it

I just saw one of Roland Sand's custom builds while I was in Sturgis and that is the way the bike had the brake and clutch reservoirs done.

Probably not for me. Looks like it would break off easily.

If it''s leaking the screws are on too tight. Usually a new gasket is all that is needed.

those things drive me nuts, if the screws are too loose the fluid sprays out, it they are too tight then it leaks out the bolts holes, you try to buy a new gasket & it's a pain to get aligned..

if you ruined the paint then just re-paint it.

there is a torque spec for the cap (5-11 inch/Lbs) plus I use blue locktite on the screws

The cure is simple, get a HD chrome cover on that. mine hasn't leaked again, and I didn't even change the gasket as HD only sells the gasket coupled with a new cover now.

mine seeps a little bit from time to time too. i thought it was from being loose, but reading this i may need to re check the tq on the screws.
