Default Upgrade of aux-passing-spot lights

I would like to replace my sealed beam spots with the bulb holder/ reflector/ lense assembly from a newer bike. I was told on the touring board that the newer bulb holder/ reflector will fit in my existing buckets. Just want to double check that this will work, in order to use halogen or led bulbs in the spots.
My 2004 was the last year for the sealed beams, so I imagine 2005 on up will work?

Go to candlepowerinc and click on their sealed beams. They have numerous 36 watt halogen sealed beams. Narrow, wide beam, amber,,whatever you want. Just as good as the new spots. Save yer $$$.
