2007 Sportster draining battery
I recently bought a 2007 Sportster 1200L with 4500miles. The guy I bought it from said it needed a new battery.
Once I turn the key and hit the start button, the big has a small hesitation then the starter kicks in. The old battery would go dead when it was not plugged in to a battery tender.
I recently bought a new lithium battery which starts the bike right up. It has been about a week since I have started the bike and now it is dead.
The battery is back on the tender and I am convinced that there is something drawing the power.
How can I diagnose the battery drain? There are no auxiliary accessories or aftermarket lights.
Is there a normal period of time where I can expect the battery to die when it hasnt been run?
My security system has been disconnected and the draw still happens.
JUMP TO 4:31 to hear how the engine starts. There is a short delay before it fires.
