Horn and directionals stop working

Horn and directionals stop working
After a two hour ride on my one month old 2011 street bob
I noticed the horn stopped working, and also my directionals.
I also tried to get the flashers to turn on no luck.
Everything else worked, lights, speedo, and running lights.
Went home ,
after 15 minutes I restarted the bike and the horn and directionals work. What gives?? Did the heat from the engine cause the horn and directionals to stop working? checked the fuses and all was ok.

I had this happen to my Tour Glide recently. I noticed that my turn signals weren't working anymore and the headlights/tail lights were still working. I also have a volt gauge and noticed that the voltage was low, the bike wasn't charging. Following the sticky topic in this forum, I tried to diagnose the problem myself. I discovered a loose voltage regulator plug, cleaned it and re-connected it, as well as recharged my battery, and all has been well since. I suggest checking out your charging system carefully(especially where the voltage regulator plugs into the stator) and make sure it's charging. The reason they worked again when you let the bike sit is because the battery had a chance to bounce back from it's discharged state just enough for them to work, but if your charging system isn't working right, they would quickly stop working again.
