That's a Power Plus 100" motor, the last 2 years of the Indian chief had them before Polaris bought them this time around, some outfit in the south east somewhere was selling them for a while to, parts still around if you hunt a bit. Engine, trans controls and the electrics probably came from all the extras from the auction when the old factory in Gilroy sold everything off.

Yep, It's a second resurrection Indian bottle cap motor.. Current resurrection is 3.. It was designed by thunderheart. IIRC the outside interface is pretty much the same as an HD evo. I heard that early motors had oil issues and someone was making a fix. If you have issues you can replace with an evo motor..

Thanks for the info, any idea what year this engine may be, 80's/ 90's or newer? Thinking about adding a temp gauge to keep close eye on engine temp. Cool to know I can replace the engine with evo, bottle cap look is awesome though.

They made those from 2001 to 2005 for Indian if I remember right but they didn't come for retail till 02, original company that made then is still selling them I believe. I rode a few bikes with that motor, was very strong and smooth.

I will add replace anything electrical that's Thunderheart particularly the ignition, had loads of bad stuff from them.
