Confused
As I'm working I'm thinking about how to adjust my pushrods, I am confused as hell! I'm not sure of how many tpi do I will count them but now is where I get confused. I have to get to the middle of whatever the tpi is right ? So, if the tpi is 32, I need to get to the middle16, which is 2.6 turns or about 15.6 flats?

With a 32 TPI, you want to go .100" which is 3.2 turns (10% of 32). Just go 3 to 4 turns down and you will be good to go. (I usually go 4 and when I tighten up the lock nut, it loosens a little to about 3.5 or a little less.)
Use nail polish or white sharpie marker and mark a reference mark on the pushrods so you can keep up with the turns. Heck with counting flats.
Pull your spark plugs and make it so you can rotate the engine (use rear wheel and bike in 5th gear)
Get the front cylinder on TDC on the compression stroke (both valves closed....lifters on base of cam). Take out the lash to where the pushrod is snug and you cannot move the pushrod up or down, just barely be able to rotate it. Adjust down to your 3.2 turns and tighten up the locknut. Do both intake and exhaust on that cylinder.
Do not move to the rear until you are able to rotate both pushrods (might take up to 15 minutes for lifters to bleed down). Then set the rear cylinder to TDC on it's compression stroke and repeat the above.
Do not rotate the engine until the rear leaks down too.
You are done!
Final note: Make sure you understand how the locknut locks the pushrod. Sometimes folks get confused and do not lock it down correctly and they get out of adjustment very quickly.
