Mostly stock 88TC cam choices

The bike is a 05 88TC RoadGlide, only mods are SE stage 1 aircleaner, Rienhart true duals, and a Power Commander 3. Reading my ass off on the subject and this is a list of some recomendations I have read. Also I am Not pulling heads or going gear drive or raising compresion, just going Cyco tensioner shoes, S&S quickie adjustable pushrod kit, new bearings and cams. From the list below what is best, 2up riding 1/3 of the time, dont need a 5500 rpm hot rod but want good power improvement and a cool idle.

HD/SE: 204 & 255
Andrews: 21, 26, & 48
S&S: 510 & 551

The 21, or an S&S .509.
We have either on the shelf.

Andrews 21 hands down for a simple cam upgrade with not doing anything else... Lots of low end power and I still get 43 mpg

I'll go with 48s.

kink04fxd 05-08-2014 09:11 PM

509s for me.

The Andrews site says the 48 needs high lift springs, I am going with quickie adjustables so I dont need to pull heads or rockers. Anyone run these cams with stock springs on a combo like mine?

'05 was first year for beehive springs and they will accomodate up to .570" lift; your good with the 48 at .550" lift.
