Default Evo Softail ticking/clattering noise

I might be a bit sensitive for these engine noises, but I think my Evo Heritage has started to make more noise than a normal EVO BT does. There's EV27 cam inside but nothing more. I replaced the lifters and the ticking/clattering didn't quiet down. The noise gets louder when the engine gets warm - when cold it's pretty quiet.

I shot a short video when the bike is idling. Any ideas?

Maybe someone with better ears than me can hear something, but that sounds fine to me.

I agree with Omaha, Sounds pretty good to me as well. You can always go to adjustable pushrods and set pre-load to .140".

I can hear it. Think it's harder to hear on different playback devices. Time for rocker lockers?

Sounds like my motor has sounded for the last 116,000 miles.

Sounds fine to me too.
You can quiet it down some by using dino oil instead of synthetic.

If an EVO sounds like a pissed off sewing machine then everything is good.

Sounds like an evo. The valves rap louder the hotter it gets. My wife asked me this very question on Sunday when we were on a run. I just told her that the ponies are getting hot (It was almost 85 near pittsburgh). Rode through some rain, cooled down engine and the valves quieted down.

What year is the motor? What kind of inner cam bearing does it have?

Sounds like mine. I just did the rocker lockers a few weeks ago and it reduced the clatter but far from eliminated it.

Thanks guys. I try to convince me it's been like that since I got it four years ago. I've been wondering if I should do the rocker lockers, but don't know... think I'll just ride it.
