Wow Tom....... Where did you find that? (not that I think it would be advisable)

Or you could just ignore the problem because it really isn't a problem.

When engine starts oil is returned to the oil tank and runs normally.

Don't be criticizing the OP's English. Let's see how you guys do in Spanish. We all know he means shut off valve.

Yeah, not a good idea. You're gonna forget at some point and that will be bad. Fix the problem's cause. Also note that even if everything is perfect, if you let it sit for six months, it can still sump. I used to have that problem when I was a sailor, even when the bike was new. It's just part of the experience. Now, if it happens after a week, you need to fix that.

Well, yeah, if everything is working right.

But if the check ball isn`t doing it`s job, the lube is going to drain into the cases, and if too much is down there, it is not all going to be scavenged back to the tank, some of it is going to be puked out the breather.

The OP has never stated if there is a problem.

For all we know he is just thinking about a goofy idea that popped into his head...

Same hear no problem on the 89, as long as I ride it or at least run it between rides, but if it goes a couple of months I know to put paper towels in the S&S and at the base of the pushrod tubes.
Just one of the cost of having a superior machine.
