Trying to get into Evoland-00y0y_gfudhrufwzb_1200x900.jpg

If things go according to plan this will be in my possession by next weekend. It's a 1987 with 35,000 miles on it. New tires, carb and battery. It's an hour away and I haven't seen it in person yet because I'm swamped at work so spare time is non existent.

Remember to keep the shiny side up on that. Good luck.

Ok I saw it in person. What a f'n wreck! It looks great in pictures but in person it's quite different. It's leaking from every orifice possible. The lifter blocks have silicone squeezing out from underneath, it sumps badly so there's residue all over the place from that also. It's obviously spent it's life in the great outdoors because the console is cracked up and split open as is the seat. The fairing is hanging on for dear life, the brakes and rotors are shot, the wiring has been hacked and spliced and he didn't even bother tying it up. The forks are in desperate need of a rebuild because the sound effects make you think something is going to grenade. The transmission has been apart that the guy had never mentioned to me. Once again there's silicone oozing out from the edges. There's a ton of play in the steering head. Oh and the belt is so loose it's actually drooping! It's either a parts bike or a project for someone. At $5k it's priced at double what it's worth. So I'm going to keep searching for an Evo Electra Glide. That's the goal bike and I won't stop until I get one.

Bummer. Pictures can be deceiving. Keep looking. Most of us on this forum believe the Evo is the best Harley made. I love mine.
