Center Punched a Deer.
I could have posted this any where on the forum. Decided to to share with my Evo bros. Picked up my 1995 Road King back in October last year. Just got all the problems fixed. Kinks ironed out. Bugs debugged. Oil leaks plugged. Every thing did that I wanted did. Last Thursday. After a glorious day of riding. About 9:00 pm a 1/4 mile from the house running 40 mph a big *** doe suddenly appeared right in front of me. Centered punched her dead center. RK went down. I hit the road. I would give the time honored warning. Be safe. Be careful. In a scenario such as this. It don't matter. It just happens. I am ok. Thanks to my Guardian Angel. Could have been much worse.

Positives is your here talking about it. I live in deer country, one ran across the front of my bike and didn't even have time to touch a brake, butt sucks seat every time seeing one when on a bike. Don't have a problem at all putting a hole in one during hunting season, one less deer to worry about.

I must of said to myself a hundred times in the few miles I had left to get home "I just hit a friggin deer" just trying to process what the hell just happened. Wife knew something happened the minute she seen me get off the bike. I guess I had that look on my face or she noticed the poo poo in my pants...
It took me a little while to feel "comfortable" again riding the country roads on the bike. I live in deer country, and usually end my riding by 6 or 7pm, and yes, ended up leaving late and was on the road about 8pm when my encounter happened. Now 7pm is the latest I will ride. It's a scary 1-3 seconds from the time you realize whats about to happen till the time it actually happens.
Glad your alright. Could have been allot worse. Welcome to the unwanted club but look at the bright side, the odds just changed/reset for you. YD

Glad you're OK. They have killed a lot of bikers, including my friend Leon and a couple we met in Sturgis (that was an elk.) There are more deer in Arkansas than people. I live in the woods. I've bagged 2 of them with Lexus LS400's. One about 2 miles from home, the other about 1 mile from work (in town.)
