Finally got my Barnett super slick clutch cable and installed it. Took the 97 for a little ride and everything works like new, shifting perfect again. Thanks for all the help.

Never heard of the super slick cable LOL
Sounds like it should work really nice tho

Not the official name but the cable is coated with a "super slick" coating. Might be called Easy Pull".

Got one coming this week for the Springer. Now I'm really looking forward to it.

Only problem is the new clutch cable looks so nice that I need to change my front brake cable to match.

So the easy pull clutch by Barnett is part of a combined system. Which involves more than friction plates.
Our bikes have all ben 08 and up. Yeo were used. In fact, my wife’s x bones must be equipped with one. Much easier then my 014 Slim. Tho the Slim seems pretty easy enough to me as is
