Default "Harley Davidson Performance" carb...knockoff?

I keep seeing these carbs put up on ebay:

Harley Davidson Performance 40mm CV Carburetor Carb NEW

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Harle...#ht_2754wt_943

Does anybody know anything about them? They look like the Harley CV carbs but they don't say Harley nor have the bar/shield. Are they made in the same factory but just not made for the MoCo? Are they worth considering?

Keihin has been making CV carbs for along time and they are used on various metrics. The ones you are looking at could be NOS Honda or from some other brand. I'd PM the seller with my concerns.

If it's the same brand and the jets and whatever else is adjusted are the same as the SE, I would consider that the same. I'm not a CV guy, but a 44MM Keihin is a 44MM Keihin and if the needles, etc. are the same, it's the same.

They make a CVH and a CVK and there is a difference, though basically the same. I messed up my computer and lost so much stuff, I can't reference the precise difference right now but seems it had something to do with the idle circuit that acted like an economizer valve in a Holley 4bbl carb. Regardless, with that one pictured, you're looking at another 55-$60 for the enricher valve/cable assembly that is not included.

I gave them a quick call and they said the carb is not made by Keihin. But that their jets, etc would fit it. So it looks like a complete aftermarket build, not a NOS. They said it is made by "ISO Performance" ...not sure who that is...I've googled them but can't find anything yet...looks like I'll pass on that carb.

I think Kawi and Suzuki ran the CVs.
