Default fuel leak at carb.

Recently purchased 1990 FLT with CV carb.
Noticed stains on motor from fuel leakage after purchase.
Thought it was coming from the accelerater pump and noticed the old acc. pump diaphram was definatley pooched when i replaced it with new.
Thought i had solved this leak with the new accelerater pump kit but the damned thing is still leaking with engine running and petcock open , no leak with petcock off.
Fuel line connections seem ok ., no gas in the oil.
Any suggestions .?

pull the float bowl an clean the bowl, float an needle an seat area with carb cleaner. Make sure the float moves easily. I went thru this not long ago. I think the ethanol in the gas breaks down the gas line an that gunk gets in the carb, so it might be a good time to replace the line.

+1 The float needle's not closing. You may have to rebuild the carb. It shouldn't leak while running.

Check the plastic elbow at the carb fuel inlet. HD has a brass replacement.
