Take stock aluminum garbage, put in trash receptacle. Save $800 plus shipping and get a baker clutch hub; that is how you fix it.

you need a press and it's easy. My bearing was spun had to peen the hub and use loctite sleeve retainer. No press and you aren't doing the job.

you need to support the outer hub we use a auto trans clutch shell - press the center out with a stand up press - then remove the snap ring and push the bearing out // Note some fall out - if its a bit loose use red loc tight and re install - support the back half and spray with WD 40 AND PUSH THE TWO CAREFULLY AS - as it can crack the works - re install the snap ring and install the hub and discs

Basket needs to be off bike and friction dics and plates need to be removed.
Ck for a snap ring best I recall and yea a press is needed. Least i thought it was. If you get all apart and have a good machine near, I'd ck with them about pressing it out.

RHillbilly: Is there a particular reason you are replacing the clutch hub bearing?

RHillbilly 04-19-2015 07:54 PM

Had a whine when slowing down that would go away when I pulled the clutch in so I am replacing inner primary and clutch hub bearing.primary bearing felt a little rough when spinning it with inner primary off figured while apart replace both

Dan89FLSTC 04-19-2015 08:05 PM

The only time the clutch hub bearing spins is when the clutch is disengaged, and that is when your noise goes away...

If the clutch hub bearing was bad, it would make noise when the clutch lever was pulled in, and the noise would go away when you let the lever out.

I don`t think the clutch hub bearing is the problem.
