Default Ness big sucker

Hey folks, thinking about sending my hypercharger back to the 90's, I'm looking at a ness big sucker and am wondering if anyone that has one will chime in to let me know if the like it, and if the factory cv air cleaner cover will fit the stage one and stage two. The stage two filter looks really deep in the pics on line.

Thanks
Chaz

Chaz the factory cv air cleaner cover will fit on both the stage 1 & 2 bug sucker air cleaners. The stage 1 sticks out a little further than the factory air cleaner, and the stage 2 sticks out even further. I'm happy with the stage 1. Sold the stage 2 because I didn't like how far it stuck out.

Thanks for the info! I'll probably order the stage one next week.

I hate my hypercharger. It's rattling like crazy now. I'm looking for something else too.

Been running a Big Sucker stage 1 since '08 on my bike. Works well, and I like the absence of extra breather plumbing. I'm currently running a 7" round air cleaner cover on mine from a Shovelhead aftermarket air cleaner. Gives the bike a cool, old school look and a mean intake whine under acceleration.

OK. I got the Ness Big Sucker and put it on last night. I am impressed with the way it is made (high quality), and it bolted right up. It was raining like hell when I finished it, so no road test yet, probably tomorrow. Thanks to all for the input.

Glad it worked for you. I had to add a couple of washers as spacers, since my carb must stick out a bit too far (I run a Mikuni HSR42). This brings up a cautionary note. Be sure the fit is good between the carb, the backing plate and the cylinder heads. It's possible to crack the backing plate if it's forced into alignment.
