That not good news. But I have had seats pop on Ford Taurus. Chevy 358 race motors ford farm tractors and a Briggs kart motor on alky. So it happens to all of them. Still looking for somebody to build me Pistons I want for my 127. But so busy its on back burner still fall.
Nagger did John do the heads or were they pretty much just cleaned up?

John did some port work.
Spoke to Mike at Ultima and going to send me 2 new heads with gaskets, very professional. Mr Sachs has a lot of pull in the performance market and thanked him for direction plus a contact.

I have heard that Ultima, and particularly Mike have been very stand up about backing their products.
Did Mike say anything about having this issue before yours?

On porting, don't know yet. May just leave them alone and the stock compression, Sachs told me to remove a intake valve and call him, he said Ultima now has the same tool he uses that opens the throat under the valve and a 4 angle cut at the same time. If the new heads are opened in the throat area then they will get the job done or send them to him for some clean up because the throat is the bottle neck of the Ultima heads
Sachs has always told me anything I need to know and ran across another good guy in the engine world with Mike Garrison.

Just a side note, I've always used Fluid Weld when installing seats, never a problem in 11years of kart racing, head temps running 400*-420*.

[QUOTE=grbrown;14214396]Sounds as if you should be back on the road before long. I'm not sure that opening up the throats is absolutely necessary though! [/QUOTE
He is talking about the area entering the valve not the port. Exact words was "about as efficient as pissing into a fan blowing at you"
