Sounds like the decal may have shrank and lifted. Hard to keep that from happening. Sometimes using decals is a crap shoot. Sorry to hear.
I know what you're saying, not gonna cut any corners or rush it. It has to be perfect...

TEXAS.....you're funny , you would have been fine with the turn out I'm sure... I put dirt under the decals to give it the bubble effect... thanks, I needed a laugh !!!!

I'm wondering if the decals you used reacted with the clear they sprayed over them or a solvent in the clear. Are you going planning clear over those FXWG decals?

No,the FXWG is a stencil I had made. It will be applied on the base blue when dry along with some stripping, then metallic black will be sprayed , then remove stencils and stripping and apply about five coats of clear

Great. All paint, no chance of decals lifting again. That's wise and you will have something unusual which is cool (it's already unusual cause of the extra pedal!).

I'll be back in the spray booth Saturday morning for the new two-tone paint scheme. I have more faith in this plan over the decals even though I never had a problem before. But I'm glad I'm trying something I've never done before with stencils and flame taping, much more involved but I'm hoping for more of the"WOW" factor than the last attempt.
I'll try to post pic in between steps if I'm not stressed out, LOL.....

Are you painting it yourself?

That's cool. I used to paint for a living. It's not easy to be good at it.

Makes it that much better. I appreciate a guy who can do things. It's getting rare in today's world. I'm trying to teach my sons how to fix things and do things but I have to pry them away from the iPads.

That said the good news is anything I want to do, they find me videos to show me how to do it! But nothing competes with actually knowing how it feels to spin a wrench or lay down a good paint job with no runs and no dry spots. It's a fine balance.

Hard to see in the picture, it will"pop" in the sunlight. I will post one next week when I can put it in the sun. Looks really good, I like the contrast of the two dark colors together. Certain angles you can't even see it. THE black has a decent amount of metallic in it.
