Default S&S super b on an evo

Is anyone running an old s&s super b on their evo? I know they dont have an accelerator pump like a super e and that the air cleaner would hang out past the right hand grip......

But I have a chance to buy one that looks to be in pretty good shape for $50. And it would be replacing a keihin butterfly, which I finally have tweaked to run pretty good but it still leaves a little to be desired.

Just looking for some input on whether it's worth a try or if I should just spend the money on a super e.

Thanks!

Spend the money on the Super E. Or a Mikuni. Or save a bunch and 'work' the stock CV.

Can't comment on a B, but I like S&S carbs so much I bought a G with an engine attached!

My original plan was to buy a used CV and go that route.

But after buying the carb, rebuilding/upgrading it and then buying CV style cables and an adapter so I can run my s&s intake it would be about the same cost as buying a super e....

And that's been my plan, but my cheap a$$ came across this super b cheap and was curious!

A new v111 would solve my leaky base gasket problem too

The B carb was primarily for the older iron head and 74" shovels. You can use it on an 80"er but limiting your performance. Plus why would you want a carb without an accelerator pump? Not worth the aggravation....

Never on an evo, but I do run a modified "B" on my 93" shovel stroker motor. It has been bored a bit in the throat and also has a Sifton Bomb sight on it. Works nice on it.

You can always add an accelerator pump kit to the B if they are still available.

I appreciate the input. I might just pick it up to put it in my "future bike projects" stash and if I get bored maybe I'll throw it on my evo and see what happens!

It would really have to be a p.o.s. to run worse than my current butterfly carb!

One difference in the b and the e will be the throttle response the acc pump will be snappier where the b you roll on the throttle
