There, I fixed it! We carried on making them long after we stopped sending them across the pond! I've owned three modern MGs and none of them had Lucas stuff.

Thank you for your perspective, wasn't really sure about the bike as I don't know Harley's well. I like your idea of swapping out some of the vulnerable stuff. I've had all kinds of bikes over the years and cant say I fell in love with any of them. This one feels like a keeper.

Usage will be occasional fair weather rides around the hill country. I have the forward and passenger foot pegs. Went to the dealer for a oil filter today, it seems there is one filter fits all? Is that correct?

NO......there is an Evo filter and a Twin Cam filter. I have no idea about the M8.

I have both TC and Evo bikes. Your TC filter will have rubber on the inside you can see through the holes. The boxes will be different color, although I can't remember. Look at your filter to verifiy.

Your parts guy is an idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From now on if you need a part go to one of the online parts websites and find the part number you need then go to the dealer and tell them you need that part number.

Dealership guys like that are the reason I do all my own work. Spend the money on tools to keep you on the road. Basic bike work is easy.

There are smarter and more experienced mechanics on the forum that can help you through what you don't know.

Hi guys,
I have decided to let one of you real enthusiats enjoy the FXR3. Great bike we just have many other interests and only so much time to fully enjoy them.
Am going to post it in the for sale area for $7500.
