Hi tengel and welcome to HDF from the UK!

Interesting looking bike. Looks to me like the bottom of the frame, under the engine and transmission, are early Harley, while the rear rigid sub-frame has been added recently. Possibly all part of some smart Swede's response to the laws you mention! The engine has an after-market timing cover to make it look more like a panhead.

What primary drive does your bike have?

Thanx its a great forum..

The bike is not mine yet, thinking of buying it, But i am a litle held back with all the different parts.. Might be better too buy an orginal bike.
But really like the looks on this one.
Its realy hard to say what has been done on the bike, there is no documents so far back.
The primary drive is an 3 inch open belt.

Judging by the look of the bike most of it is fairly recent. The frame may be old, but I would be surprised if the bike was built more than say 15 years ago. I would expect the seller should have some history for when it was built, and know how old the engine is.

This website is worth reading through, as it shows what Evo engine numbers on factory built bikes look like and how to interpret them. If it has a different style of number it suggests it was built from new parts or is not a true Harley engine (they are frequently copied!).

You might have an S&S engine there. What are the numbers on the engine??? The bike from the pictures appears to be an aftermarket build using a Harley frame as a foundation. I'd be more than happy to check it out for you if you send me a round trip ticket!!! LOL

Interesting looking bike. Just don't ride in the ride or that big rear tire will soak your back!

Interesting looking motor , can't really understand the purpose of the add on in front of the cone, almost looks like it has the mount area for a sporster generator.

that is a S&S panzer motor, the heads are suposed to look like a panhead too but it is basicly an evo style motor so most of the parts can be swapped..that frame isnt harley, mabye a small piece of it but rearend, down tubes,backbone,neck,..are all custom the frames only had casting numbers,no vin till 1970 i dont know how they registar bikes there but i would guess you are going to have a lot of trouble getting this legal. would have to be considered homebuilt or special condstruction

it is suposed to look like a panhead motor which uses the same generator as a ironhead

That's a cool looking bike, but I'm gonna go with "there's not a whole lot of 1949 in there," besides maybe some paperwork.
