Default Leather saddlebag recover

Anybody tried to have their saddlebags recovered? I've got the factory leather bags on my RKC and they are shot. I'm wondering if it's possible to pull out the stitching and recover them. I'm betting the leather is glued to the plastic liners but it might be possible.
