This thread was very necessary since I just gave my 2 year old a ride the other day and now have rubber from her shoes on my engine. I'll be trying some of these things.

Try using brake fluid with a soft rag. Chrome is very easy to scratch with steel wool and scotch brite. The fine scratches are very noticable under florescent lights. I found brake fluid works the best.

I've had great luck with "Flitz."

Anyone else that has used it, will testify how well it works.

P.S. The sale prices aren't too shabby either!

Get some fine bronze wool from the hardware store. It is usually next to the steel wool.
Run the bike about 2 minutes to warm things up. Use the bronze wool with a car polish.
I use TR 3. Do not use it dry. The polyester will wipe off without scratching.

Go to Walmart and buy a can of Tech carb. cleanner, don't get it on the paint but it should take it off with no problem, I use it alot.

Good suggestions, but Jason has posted once, never been back, so obviously he's either fixed his problem, or scratched the **** out of his new chrome.

I was thinking the samething Joe. As you said he either scratched the hell out of his chrome, or he didnt like us bagging on his "Miracle Fabric".
