I'm thinking about getting this mount from Speed Kings..It's really damn expensive but they have a lifetime warranty on it and guarantees the mount won't break. Does anyone have experience with this bracket? You'd think for $200 they would have at least powdercoated the thing..I wonder how much it would cost to get it chromed??

That looks great for the rear mount, which should prevent the problem Tom warned of in post #2, but you will still need one at the tranny, to support the system weight further forward. Take another look at the link in post #4.

You're quite right, but it supports the rear of the exhaust, I don't see how it can also support the centre of the system. Take a look at that Dyna photo above, there is a chrome bracket around the upper pipe, just below the oil filler cap, to the front of the oval tranny cover. Also check the link I gave earlier, and take a look at a stock mounting system!

This is an different brand of mounting bracket (may not be for a Thunderheader), which includes a tab (to the right) to take that extra support strap, although it may be possible to do something similar with your Speed Kings mount:

I see that..I do have a mount that can mount to the cam inspection plate..That's a nice mount too..and it looks like they powdercoated it! Wish I would've seen that one!

I finally got the pipe off and much to my dismay...The brace that connected to the cam plate cover is broken and there's a crack at the top right of the mount. I'm banging my head into a wall here..Luckily here in Vegas there is an FXR guru, so I'll be dropping the pipe off with him today and he'll weld the crack and mount a new anchor plate. Then I'll start putting money away for a new TH down the road..One that will be properly mounted this time.
