i have a 1995 softail i noticed my idle came up a little. if i push down on the fuel enricher the idle goes down. if i push hard enough i can even kill the engine. is this normal. or does my carb need a rebuild.also when i press down hard on the enricher the oil light flashes.

Where are you pushing on the enrichner? The return cable, lose or tight, shouldn't have anything to do with your enrichner circuit. If the enrichner cable is out of adjustment I can see your problem....but again where are you applying pressure?

 

im pushing down on the tab of the enricher. the metal tab.the thing you lift up when you start the bike.

 

update. harley says its suppose to do that.problem solved

 

Is the engine still cold when this happens? If so that is normal. If it still does it with a warm engine you have a problem.

 

It sounds like you have a S&S carb on the bike....I still don't think that is normal. When the dealer says it's normal they are really saying I don't know how to fix it.
