Default Andrews 32h cam set

Has anyone run these cams yet? Any feedback? It seems like they would work really well on a motor with decent heads, and the low tdc lift should mean less overlap = no bad habits at low rpm.

Overlap isn't this cams bad habits on lower end power....it is the earlier opening exhaust valve that is meant for quick scavenging for higher rpm power. You see the longer youleave those hot expanding gasses in the cylinder they push the piston down the cylinder a little further for more torque....the faster these gasses escapes the cylinder with a earlier open exhaust valve is loosing that good low end tq but the gassers are gone sooner which cleans out the spent gasses early....when it's gone early a faster reeving engine will occour....so this cam has that earlier open exhaust valve for top end power paid with a price of the low end torque.

37 cam is better for all around power.

Note that on the Andrews web site, http://www.andrews-products.com/moto...6_GearCams.htm, that the 32H cam'spower band is 2600-5800 and the 37 cam'sis 2200-5600 RPM. This would support Doc 1'sgood explanationof how the two models compare.

Thanks for the input DOC, the later intake closing was a clue about a loss of bottom end. Im looking for something with more lift for my new heads, but I am limited as to what I can go with due to the bigger valves. Im willing to give up a little on the bottom since the compression will be a bit higher, but the valves rub around .210 off the seat. As much as I dont like Crane, (I have had a few too many bad experiences with their parts being junk) their 290 cam looks pretty good, as does the andrews 54. I would have liked the Woods tw7h, but I'd rather not sink the valves. Guess I'll never get exactly what I want, unless Someone is willing to grind it custom...

Bring your compression up to 10.5:1 and run the TW6H cam.....great little torque cam, little noisey on top end of the build but what a performer...

I think I may have just enough valve to valve clearance for the Woods TW7H after he grinds the seats, Im going to be using a set of SE performance heads fully ported, and chambers relieved to 80cc. The reason I was looking at the Andrews 32h is that Im changing to the 4 3/8 flywheels as soon as money permits, and with 80cc heads, it will be really hard to get the compression down without losing the quench (running the pistons below the deck). Guess Ill worry about that later....

We can relieve the ccc's in a given head, with great precision.
