Default Cam options?

&nbsp\\;My 03 tc88 started rattling bad, it goes into the shop tomorrow (hopefully the warranty covers most of it). Gonna be replacing the jugs with axtell 95" setup (10.5:1 compression) also want to replace the cams. I am wanting about 90ish hp, and as much torque as i can get in the 2500-5500 range. I have seen several builds using Wild Things TC-2G Cams that make the numbers I want, and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with these, or if there are better choices. The bike also has a mikuni carb (se i beleive) and ultima 2 1/4" pipes (big growl up and outs). How much are those pipes gonna hurt power output in the midrange? any info would be helpful.

those cams work OK, but I like the HQ cams better, comes on just over 2k rpms and pulls well over 5K and has a big fat midrange. and about 100$ cheaper!

The pipes will put a hole in the torque curve the size of Detroit.
All your good work (money) will be for nothing.
I'd reccomend boring your existing seasoned cylinders to 95-98", set the squeeze at 10-10.2:1, with a Bob Wood 6(or larger, which would also mandate&nbsp\\;more compression, and perhaps roller rockers), along with a good* set of heads, and get it tuned correctly.
And, get rid of those pipes.
Even a set of Cycle Shack slip-ons or a set of S/E slip-ons will will out-perform those, by far.
Hope this helps.

For best results, you need to be thinking "package", not just "what cams"...
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;
As Duane mentioned, Head-Quarters has some great packages. Scott was also alluding to more of a "package" setup.
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;
I also agree that those pipes will not "complement" a package designed to make BIG torque. Ideally, a good 2into1 would be best if you really want to get the most out of your build.
&nbsp\\;
Lastly, the tune will make or break the build.

Well... the good news is they got er apart, and I wasn't crazy. The front piston is scuffed up bad, and the bore is pretty much shot. The not-so-good news is it had a stage II kit (95 ci) installed at some point prior to me buying it, and It has been bored since then (the mechanic looked up the number on the pistons)... so they are not 100 percent sure the extended warranty is going to cover it (even if it was done prior to me buying the bike and the policy). The heads have had some considerable porting work done (whoever it was did a really good job), and have stock sized valves&amp\\; high lift springs. They called the HD extended warranty and are waiting for a call back. I asked them to go ahead and tear into the cam chest while they are waiting. I am most likely gonna bite the bullet and go with gear driven cams reguardless of what they find. But I'm thinkin, with the amount of scuffing (see also grooves) on the piston, the metal had to go somewhere...

went with the axtell 10.5:1 95" kit, and s&amp\\;s 585's. the shop I have it at has experience with this combo, so I went with what they reccomended. It should be done in two weeks... I can't wait!

Had the shop add roller rockers to the build. I know I won't be making any bottom end (again), but any clues as to what this combo should do power wise?
what I got so far:

mikuni 42mm carb
k&amp\\;n filter
Pipes that look good (but that's about it...)
10.5:1 compression
585g cams
roller rockers
ported heads with stock valve sizes. (2003 castings)
s/e 21 tooth compensator sprocket (in an attempt to reduce effect of detroit size hole to say... nashville size&nbsp\\; lol)
any info (guesses) would be greatly appreciated.

Just for my own curiosity, when did it rattle? I\\;E what RPM, cold, warm, all the time, did it fade when warm, did it run like crap?
