when is supermeg too small?
we did some tuning today...here's the build: '08 screamin' eagle dyna...110"...r&r stage 4 heads w/ 86cc chambers, stock intake runners and 1.94/1.63 valves...200ccp/4% leakdown...stock pistons, cylinders, rings, clutch, bottom end...se257 cams...crane adj p-rods...cometic .030" hg's...hpi 55mm t/b...se injectors...bob wood 3.25" a/c...advance tuned power commander...supermeg 2 into 1
the lower numbers was closed end cap/28 discs
today was steel open end cap/20 discs
I'm not presenting this chart as a scientific comparison for the following reasons: different day, uncorrected numbers, much better air today vs the other run
we set fuel to 13.0 because that's what mike usually does...I wanted 13.5, but deferred to his experience...was this a mistake?
we did not adjust timing today...we did do some timing swings oct 2 (the lower # run), but mike is very backed up and I will tweak timing later with the laptop
the tuner was mike cat, kenner, la...real standup guy, one of the best tuners/builders I've used...he had never used the open end cap before, but said today he believed it worked better
we did one hp pull with the new baffle setup and the old tune...it was over 14/1 above 4000 rpm, even though we set it to 13.0/1 with the old baffle setup...does this mean the new baffle setup flows better?
I'd like your opinions/experience on what is the breakover point for the supermeg...is it too small for a 110" motorwith a long cam?
