I think (And yes it hurt) as far as I’ve read that if you are a paid subscriber to HDF you can post in POD....

Gotcha (and thanks OKMICK)

So... their reason for closing off the POD to people wasn't so important that it wasn't closed fully. Not really "litigation" issues then... or a boss-boss (investor) got involved.

So much for "closed because someone took it into the real world" But if you pay-to-post you can go there? Meh.

That's like saying "If you type c*nt you get banned... but if you pay $25 you can type c*nt is this forum thread" - hypocrites.
