Default Shortening Brake Lines

I am not very tall. I have a 2013 Ultra with ABS brakes. I could barely touch the ground with my tip toes, so I put 2 inch lowering blocks on the shocks, and a 2 inch Progressive Fork Lowering kit on the front end. Now the front brake lines going to the calipers have so much slack that they snag on the lower fairings. My funds are very limited. Does anyone know a shop that can cut the stock front caliper brake hoses shorter and crimp on new banjo fittings? I know you can just shuck a big wad of money out, and buy a shorter hose assembly, but I don't have a big pile of money. THANKS.

probably cost the same. any hydraulic shop can do as you want but they may not since it is a brake assy.

Cost you more for for the US labor to shorten your existing than to buy a brand new China/Mexico/Taiwan shortened one. I'm surprised you can't just adjust the routing a bit to accommodate the change.

what i went with was russel jic hoses and fittings with a tapped tee for the front if you have dual disks. this way, all i need to change is hose. amazon was cheap enough on the hoses and fittings.

eglideic,

Did you ever end up getting your factory brake line cut shorter, and then a new banjo fitting put on? If so, any issues? What banjo fitting did you take down to your local hydraulic shop?

Around here, there are lots of companies that can make brake lines for heavy equipment, racing, and commercial use, BUT for anything on the highway, they can only be made by a DOT approved company. And if you don't do that, and there is an accident, no insurance company will cover you. The nearest DOT approved brake line company was over 100 miles away. so I had a shortened brake line made at Russel or somewhere.
