Standing on the brakes does not avoid the needs to cycle the unit. When will it fail take a guess. When it does it expensive.
Simple little cycle and proper flush it will not fail.

Daytona Twin Scan has the below diagram on their website.

How does the accumulator come into play? Is it possible old fluid is trapped in the accumulator without cycling the pump?

electronics can fail at any time. a big issue it seems with the hd is maintenance and the need to regularly change the fluid. nothing new under the sun, basically a disclaimer since people will run the machines till it fails, happens all the time, look at cagers!
i have a high vehicle and i cannot tell you how many people will run with the warning lights on in the dash, if it still will go from A to B, they will.
think of the accumulator as a dampener.
the flow through abs has chambers with pressure plunger, aka extend to increase pressure and decrease plunger, aka reduce braking force. you do not want a hammer like pressure with spikes, you want a controlled pressure. the only pressure it sees is what the master is holding on it and/or what the plungers will add/subtract. it is not like a hydraulic assisted brake where there is an electric pump.
just like changing the oil, you cannot get it all out so what is left is nada issue. also there isn't much volume there, look at the size of the module.

e.
People rarely change fluid in an auto and they last 10++ years. Granted more fluid so more forgiving. But I look at hydraullic clutches on jap bikes. People rarely change that fluid, and they don't fail.

Not sure just a bad product because we will buy anything, or we are slave to cosmetics, and that effects design.

I recently bought one of these, they do cycle the ABS module, I figured for the price just two flushes pays for it, getting customer support is a bit difficult as they come from the chicoms and you have to communicate via e mail with them.

Auto ABS is not the same as used on Bikes. HD is not the only Motorcycle that requires a flush with cycling ever two years.

Do the other bike brands fail? Jap hydro clutches don't fail. I got one with 20 year fluid in it.

The subject is flushing brake fluid in a Harley Davidson with anti lock brake system, this has nothing to do with clutches.

Getting back on topic,

I have the ITM HD2 tool, it works great and customer support is outstanding.

That's what I hope. My partner is bringing one home with her.

My question was do the other brand motorcycles fail if you do not flush regularly? I don't know answer
