Lowering rear of 09 FLHT
#1
I currently have a 21 inch front wheel and an 18 inch rear wheel. I lowered the front an inch with harley davidson's kit. The bike has a slight increase from rear to front. Now my question, I feel the 18 inch rear wheel has raised my seat height. Maybe it's in my head, I never measured before or after. I would prefer to lower the rear an 1 inch. Will the incline be to great and cause handling issues. I'm aware the rake and degree have to be just so, but that's my depth of knowledge. I believe street glides front forks are the same as all the other tourers and the rear shocks are shorter by an inch when compared to the touring models. I'm under the impression my bike would then have the same stance as a street glide that put on a 21 inch front and lowered it an inch with an 18 on the back without touching the rear shocks. So could any one with a street glide with that set up speak to the handling? And if any one could see any issues. Thanks

I'd love to figure this out too, Subscribed. By talking with alot of people I know the 18 inch rear tire is actually 20 mm narrower, and about one inch taller (1/2 inch ride height increase) No one could tell me what to do to get my handling back, just learn to deal with it or lose the 18 inch in the back. The other suggestion was to go to 11 inch shocks in the back over stock 11 1/2" But I don't want to spend that kind of money again, I did the CVO style click type last year and I like the ride of them, I've just been running them a click lower than usual.
And everyone I have talked to said unanimously "stay the h3ll away from rear lowering blocks on touring.
