It's time. The move has to be made.

Have you looked into the Leg Up Landing gear system? Something to consider and although not super cheap, considerably cheaper than a trike conversion.

Once you get the hang of riding a trike, you won't regret it one bit. There is a lot of uninformed opinions floating around regarding trikes in general and how they handle. Most of it is BS from those that never sat on one much less learned to ride one. I converted my RKC last year and it's the best mod I ever did to it. At first I was thinking "what the hell have I done to my bike". A month later I was wondering why I waited so long to do it. It's JMO, but there are a lot of conversions that end up being a better trike than a Triglide and a Roadsmith is one of them. Hope you got the raked tree. Reverse is nice to, but I don't care for the electrical ones. I like the mechanical better.

I think it is an awesome idea sir. You gotta do, what you gotta do, and if doing so keeps you riding then more power to ya, I'd like to see the conversion as well when it is complete.

Trikes are an alternative to those like you who choose to keep on riding, I know I would just because my right hip and knees are killing me these days. Enjoy your 'new' ride once it's done.

I saw one of these recently and I will consider it when the time comes... It enables you to still lean thru the corners..

My father in law (77) is getting close to this. Probably in the next year or two. He was talking to another rider who is still on a SG, and the guy said: "If I have to go to a trike, I'll quit riding".
Man, that is just so wrong. As everyone in this thread clearly believes, as long as you're still grinnin' in the wind, you're still alive.
Eddy, you know the drill; pics or it didn't happen.

There have been previous threads like this, and I have to add my name to the list of those who will soon be moving to the world of trikes. Because of medical stuff that I won't bore you with, I either have to go to 3 wheels or get out of the wind all together. My Road King is scheduled to undergo a RoadSmith conversion in November. Much research has gone into this decision. Financially, a conversion is the best bet. This "getting older" stuff ain't always easy, that's for sure. Stay tuned.....

As others have said, as long as your *** is in a seat and the wind in your face, that's all that matters. Someday when I cross that road, I'm sure I'll go the same route!

Damn! Just did a little searching...that Roadsmith conversion is expensive!
Just the base kit with mufflers, reverse and paint is roughly $12,500, plus delivery, plus installation.
And that's with NO options, like the recommended steering angle upgrade.
I'm guessin' it could be 15 large all in, easy. Yowza!
Of course, given that a TriGlide is $33k, if your bike is worth less than $18k trade in, then it makes sense.
