WFO or Just Cruising

It seems alot of guys like to ride wide frigg'n open (WFO) everywhere they go, going as fast as the conditions will allow. Others like a little slower pace and just cruise. I like to just cruise, take in the lay of the land and the whole feeling of it.

What is your riding style, WFO or just cruising?

heritageblue2013 10-29-2014 11:26 PM

Why hurry? I want people to see me looking cool on the bike! lol

JohnnyRebKY 10-29-2014 11:32 PM

Definitely cruising. I bought a Harley to relax and enjoy the ride. 99.9 percent of my riding is done between 50 and 60 mph. I do enjoy a occasional hard acceleration to blow the soot out of it though. Healthy for a engine to have a wide open throttle " cleaning" every now and then

Dyna_Syx 10-29-2014 11:50 PM

Depends on what day it is and what mood I'm in.
Your poll doesn't have an either or both option.
I call shenanigans.

ChickinOnaChain 10-29-2014 11:56 PM

I go the speed limit so, I guess I'm cruising on the highway and in town.

JohnMn 10-30-2014 12:04 AM

Pretty much a Cruiser, but I do like to hear those pipes bark in 2nd every once in awhile

KW HD 10-30-2014 12:07 AM

+1- Shenanigans.

Mountain Cruiser 10-30-2014 01:06 AM

Yeah, there is some crossover into the two catagories, but most guys will gravitate towards one style or the other based on my experience.

From_Behind 10-30-2014 04:23 AM

Totally depends. If I'm just buzzing around town for no reason, then I'll just cruise. . . Sometimes fast, sometimes slow. If I need to cover 500 miles before the sun goes down and I'm riding on the highway, then I'll often open it up a bit more.

Spartanden 10-30-2014 04:29 AM

Never in a hurry when I'm on the bike....even if I'm late! I do like to open her up a bit, but for most part I'm a cruiser. Smelling the flowers and enjoying the ride.

Rustrtal 10-30-2014 06:08 AM

I love to cruise but most of the time I got shit to do and places to be...

This. :icon_that:

RussH 10-30-2014 06:44 AM

I just installed all my Fuel Moto parts, so lately its been WFO! Atleast until the newness wears off.

cocky 10-30-2014 06:53 AM

The slower I go the longer I get to ride.

Greezey Rider 10-30-2014 07:20 AM

Probably an 80%/20% split in favor of WFO....I built it fast to ride it fast!

To the guy that said "the slower you go the longer you get to ride" I say....The faster you go, the farther you get to ride.

MikeBel 10-30-2014 07:25 AM

At this point in my life I'm really enjoying the cruisin'. Once in awhile though it is fun to seriously twist the wrist.

Tailsfrommycrib 10-30-2014 07:41 AM

I got my cruiser for cruising. Smooth, and low is how I roll on the Tails.

I always say, "why rush through a gourmet meal"?

ohiomike 10-30-2014 08:34 AM

WFO on way to work in morning, and cruising, taking long way home.

Yeah, if I wanted to ride really fast through these mountains I ride I wouldn't be on a Harley. I'm just cruising taking in the lay of the land.

tmanbuckhunter 10-30-2014 09:10 AM

My throttle is a light switch.

Leftcoaster 10-30-2014 12:35 PM

Ho hum.....just another pointless poll.

AnotherBlackSG 10-30-2014 12:40 PM

Two of the guys I know who always rode WFO are dead now from "encounters" with cages.

When I ride alone, it's always just cruising. With my group of regulars, 99% of the time we cruise. Every now & then we'll get on it for a mile or 2, just to clear out the cob webs.

Ho hum.....just another pointless poll.
Yet, you responded to it...

ROMPUS 10-30-2014 01:05 PM

I just go the speed limit or just a little over . Some times I will get on it for a short burst on the highway when no one is around. In neighbor hoods I always go slow .

Piloto 10-30-2014 02:00 PM

Cruise...

I'm approaching 50. I've seen 150MPH several times on a motorcycle before,in my younger days. It's out of my system now.

If I ever want to do it again... I'll buy another V-Max.

Hippie49 10-30-2014 02:09 PM

I run the speed limit and at times a bit over. Don't drag azz around because I know how irritating that is to the traffic behind. I'm never in a hurry to get anywhere.

DaveTheButcher 10-30-2014 03:07 PM

I'm never really in hurry myself, so about 98% of the time I just cruise around but at least every ride there is a time or two where I'll romp on her pretty hard. Did that just a few minutes ago actually.

Kcdcltd 10-30-2014 03:12 PM

Speed is a state of mind.......that word of wisdom being shared it depends on my state of mind

patrickd 10-30-2014 03:23 PM

Sometimes I go fast. Sometimes I go faster.

triumph900 10-30-2014 06:39 PM

You need a third option; All of the above, depending on the situation.

sixguns 10-30-2014 07:12 PM

I forget, what was the question again?

BoozerHi 10-30-2014 07:12 PM

Depends on where, when & why I'm riding. Mostly WFO. :icon_naughty:

baka1969 10-30-2014 08:01 PM

It depends on my mood.

harleyguy5571 10-30-2014 08:37 PM

Riding solo, I'm wide open.

TwiZted Biker 10-30-2014 09:00 PM

Depends on the ride and the mood, why have the horsepower if you don't abuse it a bit :icon_mrgreen:

grapeapes 10-30-2014 09:20 PM

Both,
WFO through town and highway.
Cruisin on the backroads and twisties

twincam883883 10-30-2014 09:35 PM

Until a month ago I was a wfo guy for over 40 years. Now I am setting here with broken ribs and a plate on my collar bone and planning to ride slower when I heal. :)

NDBadlands4-2 10-30-2014 09:44 PM

Speed limit for me. Riding is all about escaping stress, keeping your eyes peeled for the HP's just causes stress.

lh4x4 10-30-2014 10:23 PM

Just cruising since 1956. Has worked very well for me.

Melroy 10-30-2014 11:48 PM

I like to just cruise. Put on a good classic rock shuffle on the phone and just enjoy the ride. Once and awhile on a good stretch of country road I will open it up a bit. I had 3 sport bikes in my 20's and early 30's so the speeding around is out of my system.
