Single Digits Outside But I'm Still Ridin'

What part of Colorado are you in? I'm in Aurora and the street in front of my house was still a sheet of packed down snow/ice this morning. It supposedly got up to 51, so hopefully it'll be melted off by this evening.

I just bought the Firstgear Thermo 1-piece suit along with some insulated gloves and boots from Tractor Supply. Rode to Winchester VA from Leesburg on Saturday at 36 degrees and was toasty warm...really almost too warm.
This is the first time I have bought anything motorcycle related and feel like I underpaid. It was $180 with free shipping. Boots and gloves were $80.
I will be riding to work at 0530 with temps in the 20's tomorrow...smiling at all the poor car drivers as I cruise on by.
The suit is highly recommended! Oh by the way, on my trip to Winchester, I wore jeans and a t-shirt under it. No jacket, sweatshirt, or sweater, and was very, very comfortable.
If you are in the market for some cold weather gear, buy this suit you won't be sorry.

I rode to work the other morning when it was 24 degrees out, wind chill was 17. 29 miles, one way, at turnpike speeds of 70-75 mph. I thought my fingers were going to fall off when I finally got there. Only bad thing about bikes without a fairing. No protection for the hands.
A word of caution for those of you as dumb as I am about riding in this weather.
Pay extra attention to the cages around you and make sure they know you're there. They don't expect to see anyone on a bike in those conditions so they may not be paying attention (which most don't anyway no matter what the weather). Still, be careful out there.

For the past month I've been dodging cars that were trying to kill me. They're just not used to seeing a bike in this weather and in the dark.
I've quit riding for the season. Quitting while I'm ahead.

I don't ride in below freezing weather anymore. Years ago, at a younger age, I rode to work one day, got almost there and one of the suburbs had decided it would be a good day for street cleaning. I don't know how I kept the bike up but it definitely put a scare in me!

I did stuff like that when I was 25. Now that it's 25 years later it's heated seats in my vehicle.
Back then in the Marines, I was also a marathon runner and would routinely do early morning runs shirtless because the French Foreign Legion guys did it so we had to be equally hard or stupid.
