Default New flush mount fuel gauge and cap - defective - blemish

Received my new gloss black flush Fuel Gauge and Cap, and it looks as good as all the picks I've seen here, but the bezel around the fuel gauge looks similar to chrome bubbling/blistering.

The is a blemish in one spot on the bezel of the fuel gauge, which resembles chrome bubbling - it is very noticeable with the naked eye, but not that easy to capture with a camera, although it can still be seen in the attached photos.
The fuel cap and its bezel is blemish free.

I've contacted Sudyke and waiting for their response - they have a good reputation so confident that they'll get it sorted.

Just interested to hear if anyone else has experienced this.

Nope, never experienced it myself but it is nice to hear, for a change, that you did the common sense thing and contacted the company that you bought the fuel gauge and cap from to try and solve the issue instead of coming on here, like some in the past have, and criticize and find fault with the people that they dealt with.

Just received from Surdyke:

Dear customer, Per your request, part 75027-08C is the part number with the flaw. Part 75027-08C has been reordered for you and we will issue a return label via email for you to return the defective part.

I'd reply to that Surdyke e-mail with something like this...thank you for replacing my defective part. When you receive the replacement from your supplier, will you please inspect it before you send it to me, so I don't get a 2nd item with a similar flaw...etc, etc,

Looks like someone didn't know how to get it opened and tried to pry it open with a flat blade screwdriver.

They're the peel-off type.

I'm pretty sure that was the sole reason for this thread. Had they not responded favorable, it would have immediately gone that direction. But I suspect you already knew that.
