These are some good pics. Cropping is key. I usually end up cropping all my pics to just the subject.

An iPhone does have a pretty amazing camera function, but to really control the scene using depth of field, exposure, fill flash, etc. you need an SLR. That's where the fun of photography lies.

See Hard Rider's pics above; those obviously weren't taken with an iPhone. Nice job on those!!

HardRider1, are you using aperture priority or manual setting? Those shots are the motorcycle, not anything distracting. That's what I love about those photos. The blurred background just enhances the main subject. Excellent job.

Thanks CallMe, I shoot completely manual into a Nikon D800E I believe most of these shots were taken either a 24-70 or a 70-200 f/2 depending on the framing.

Low angles, catch the highlight of the location. Carry a small tripod and a Canon G11. Had a difficult ime getting the bike & H-D tower in picture without setting camera in traffic lane.
