I recently mounted a wide glide sissy bar for the very same reason.

I thought the docking hardware for quick detach looked horrendous.

My Heritage backrest is Harley. My wifes back side comfort is handled by an Airhawk II. I have tried 'em all, these work. About $50 if you shop them.

We used a Sundowner seat from HD for two up riding, good for a couple of hours riding. Put on a medium height sissy bar and the curved back pad to go with the sissy bar, again from HD. No fitment issues and a happy wife. This is on the 02 SuperGlide, now two upping on a '13 Road Glide Ultra.

The Airhawk cushions are great. Never ride without mine.

Seems the best of solutions if feasible.

My wife made me trade my softail for a Street Glide and then add a Tour Pak for her comfort.

She is really demanding but Sometimes I just gotta make sacrifices to keep her happy...

That's what I did for my wife. Works perfect. Put it on for 2-up, take it off for solo. I went one step further and got passenger floorboards also. She's hooked up.

Take a look at the "Butt Buddy". Detachable, and much more support for a woman. My gf, used it on a five hour trip, and it worked great.before that, we were hour at a time.

I have found that Mustang makes a great seat and have used them for several years. Buy from them direct and you get 10 days to send it back on another seat, all your out is the shipping. Awesome folks to deal with!
